Create & Manage Monitors

The Monitors page is where you create and organise client-specific monitors. Each monitor has a query, source coverage, frequency, result limit, and optional monthly cap.

Create a monitor

Open Monitors from the left sidebar, then use the composer at the top of the page.

  1. Enter the query you want to track.
  2. Choose one or more source groups.
  3. Pick the check frequency.
  4. Set the result limit per run.
  5. Add a monthly cap if you want to limit spend.
  6. Click Monitor.

The monitor appears in the left rail. New results appear in the feed after checks run.

Source coverage

Source coverage controls where Eclipse looks:

  • Web gives broad coverage across pages and current mentions.
  • News focuses on publisher-style coverage.
  • Global media widens the search across international media.
  • Trusted sources keeps the monitor close to sources your team already values.

Use more sources when you need breadth. Use fewer sources when the query is already noisy.

Frequency and result limits

Frequency controls how often the monitor checks for new results:

  • Hourly for urgent topics.
  • Daily for active market watch.
  • Weekly for slower-moving themes.

Result limits control how many results a run can return. A tighter limit keeps the feed manageable. A larger limit is useful for broad discovery work.

Monthly cap

A monthly cap limits how much AI balance a monitor can use. Leave it blank when the topic is important enough to run without a monitor-level cap.

If a monitor reaches its cap, it stops adding cost until the cap resets or you change the setting.

Monitor status

Each monitor can be:

  • Active, checking on its schedule.
  • Paused, kept in place but no longer checking.
  • Low balance paused, stopped because the client needs more AI balance.
  • Archived, removed from active management.

You can run a manual check from the monitor rail when you want a fresh result outside the normal schedule.

Tags

Tags help you organise monitors by client priority, theme, campaign, or team owner. Add tags from the monitor rail, then filter results by tag when the feed gets busy.

For what to do with the findings, see Results Feed.
