What signals capture

  • Sentiment shifts in how AI engines and review platforms characterise a competitor.
  • Market moves like pricing changes, new feature announcements, or partnership news.

How to use signals

Signals are most valuable as triggers for action. A competitor publishing a series of articles on a topic you haven't covered is a signal to create content targeting that gap. A positioning shift might mean a competitor is moving into your territory.

Each signal can feed into your content strategy:

  1. Review the signal to understand what changed.
  2. Assess whether it creates a gap or opportunity for your brand.
  3. Take it to Cortex Canvas and build a response article, or create a Content Profile targeting the opportunity.
